AR test will be due February 1.  Make sure the book is a 5 point book or higher.  

 

ELA:

Monday:  Bellwork:  Irony worksheet – discuss the 3 types of irony, decide how each situation fits in the irony categories. 

              Go over Academic vocabulary terms – use Quizlet for extended study

              Read and discuss Brian’s Song          

              Extra time – Read AR book                                              

Tuesday:  Bellwork: Lesson 46 – Adverbs – discuss what adverbs do- 

               Vocabulary wkst 129, Brian’s Song terms 

               Read and discuss Brian’s Song- discuss the different story elements

               Extra time read AR book                                                              

Wednesday:  Bellwork:  Lesson 47 – Adverbs – words ending in -ly, reminder they are not always an adverb

                   Academic Vocabulary Test – take 1   (23 terms)

                   Vocabulary wkst 130, Brian’s Song terms

                   Read and discuss Brian’s Song

                   Extra time – Read AR book

                                                                                        

Thursday:  Brian’s Song   vocabulary – 40 terms 

                Use dictionary.com to find definitions

                If we have time discuss the terms and highlight the definition to study for vocab. test.

Friday:  Bellwork – Lesson 48 – Adverbs (the contraction with not)  we discussed earlier it is not a verb, but yes an adverb.

             Unstoppable you!     Journaling activity –

Enrichment:   Reminder to be willing to learn.  Participate and have a GREAT attitude.

Monday:  Read aloud to class – Boys of Blur

              a few teams finish their round of questions from Friday ’s game

              Study Hall – bring any unfinished work to class, bring library books, study island, flocabulary, etc.  Come prepared.

                     

Tuesday: Read aloud to class – Boys of Blur

              Math review – Wed/Thur.

             Tangrams – answer the questions and trace the different patterns on a piece of white paper.

             work on manipulating the different patterns (work with a partner)

 

Wednesday: Read aloud to class – Boys of Blur

                   Math review –   

                 Study Hall per students request – need to read and finish Study Island

 

                       

Thursday: Read aloud to class – Boys of Blur

               Math review –   

               Study Hall – make sure to bring something to work on .             

               

Friday: Read aloud to class – Boys of Blur

           Math review – Wed/Thur 3

         

 Real World Math – the activity that was started – make sure it is finished – discuss time charts
